Tom:
I use a cloth or paper towel to remove odd cork grease from the
instrument. Of course, I find it better to wipe my hands off after
applying the stuff to the tenon and before I get it all over something
else. If you keys are getting sticky it may not be from cork grease
but from persperation. I use a damp cloth (not wet) to clean keys
on hot sticky days.
