these mailing lists. Just trying to get the word out!

Some of you may have seen a recent posting of mine regarding formation of
a new mailing list to discuss issues that are relevant to community bands
and orchestras. Interest has been high, and thanks to my employer we now
have a mailing list available. Things aren't totally set up yet (for
example, the archives aren't done), but things are far enough along so
that we can all start signing up and talking about things! To subscribe,
email a message consisting of the text

majordomo@-----.com

A digest (one message per day combining all postings) version of the
list can be obtained by sending "subscribe community-music-digest"
to majordomo@-----.com

After you subscribe, you can post to the list by emailing to:

community-music@-----.com

There is a home page at http://www.io.com/~rboerger/community.html
which I hope will become more useful as the list membership donates
links and other contributions.

What will we talk about? Those issues relating to community music
organizations, such as: securing funding, selecting music, rehearsal
schemes, conductor searches, announcing upcoming events, and whatever
other good ideas and questions come up over time.
