Dear Friends,

I just wanted to thank all of you who stopped by my booth to say
hello at the clarinet conference in Tempe. This year was an unqualified
success for me. Sales of my mouthpieces and barrels went very well and
I had a terrific response to my new sudent model "Debut" mouthpiece
which will now be carried by Phil Muncy of Muncy Woodwinds.

For those of you who did not attend I am certain you will be
hearing about the magnificent opening concert given by Ricardo Morales.
Ricardo really transcends the instrument and belongs in a class by
himself. He dedicated a very poignent performance of the clarinet aria
from "La Forza del Destino" to Benny Armato. I don't think there was a
dry eye in the house.

Also thanks to Bob Spring who did an incredible job of organizing a
terrific conference. Bob gave two spectacular performances at the
conference. I doubt if I'll forget his performance of Paganini's "Moto
Pepetual". Being a violin piece, it has no place to breathe and so Bob
played it seamlessly using circular breathing! Wow!
