Klarinet Archive - Posting 000056.txt from 1995/07

Subj: Articulated G# (again)

David Zimet stated earlier that he is not aware of any new clarinets
manufactured with and articulated G#. David, if you are looking for
one, you will be happy to know that Leblanc manufactures a Pete Fountain
signature series clarinet with an articulated G#. I had an opportunity
to play one at the NAJE Jazz Conference in Annahiem (sp?) earlier this
year. Being designed for jazz, it is no surprise that it had a bright
sound, but the G# mechanism worked flawlessly, and after playing it
I was left wondering why the more mainstream clarinets do not have an
articulated G#.

Maybe this is something that should be brought up in Arizona.
