Hello to all of you

This will be my last contact with this list. It was only a short
meeting, but I really enjoyed it, I think I learned a lot from
you. Especially I want to thank Mr Moody and Mr Spring for their
extended responses on my request how to learn circular breathing
on bass clarinet, at the moment I am combining their methods
into one, and I daresay it works quite well, at least on my
A Boosey and Hawkes and B-flat Buffet Crampon soprano instruments.
Of course I do not yet master it so much that I dare exercise
the technique when playing with other people or in one of the two
amateur wind bands I play every week, let alone that I started to
try it on the bass clarinet, but the start has been made.

I 'll miss you all, the discussions about plurals as much as the
babbling of Frances' or Dan Leesons thorough and thoughtfull
nearly daily comments (Wish I 'd know where in France he is
going to investigate cemetaries: it would be nice to go there, to
meet him, I guess).

I will sign off monday morning. Maybe Judith Kunst sees this message
before that time and can answer this question before that time:
has she, 12 or 15 years ago maybe taken over a couple of
lessons from Chris Hengeveld? I think she has been teaching me a
few times when he was so long ill. And give my regards to Robert vd
Berg.

And as a last word to the girls with the teacher/study problem I
would like to say: get yourself a good teacher, practice carefully
and if possible daily, and the more you learn on the instrument,
the more you 'll enjoy playing it, even if you have only limited
capacities, like I have. I hope you will enjoy making music as
much as I have done since I started it 23 years ago.

BTW if your interested why I have to sign off: my present job has
come to an end and it is most unlikely I will ever come to work in
the programming world again, as I am 52 years old, so probably I
will never again have access to the internet. Alas.

Goodbye

Rien
