I know this topic has been discussed to great extents, and I mean no
offense to Meghan, but how do you know she's very good? Have you
listened to her play several pieces? Did she tell you she's very good?
Did a (good) teacher tell you she's very good? I'm sorry if I'm way off,
but maybe you're putting pressure on her to be good (if you were very
good at piano at her age, just too eager for her to be great, etc.).
Maybe she's afraid she won't be able to live up to your expectations of
her as a musician and will disappoint you if you hear her practice
sounding less than perfect. Also, does she have an older sibling that's
a good musician that maybe she feels she has to be as good as to be
equally loved? A lot of youngeryoungest children feel that they have to
compete for their parents love. Just an idea. Sorry if I'm way off.
