I read in one response that your daughter should try the Nielsen or other
pieces along that difficulty range. I really don't think that's possible for
a 14 year old. In my experience, if you give a piece to a student that is
beyond their capabilities, frustration sets in, and the problem is only
worsened - daily practice is once again not done, and incorrect practice
sessions result due to the student's trying to play something that is
technically too difficult.

My response was only to be taken somewhat seriously. Meghan claims that she
can play the music perfectly, so there is no need to practice. My
suggestions were only meant to humble her. If she is very good, and a
serious student (which seems to be more the debate here), it wouldn't do her
any harm to at least know about these pieces, and know that they are worth
spending some time with (except maybe the Davies). It took me an entire year
to be able to play the Nielson beginning to end, but at every moment I
thought it was worth the effort. Perhaps a more serious suggestion should
have been to buy recordings and music of these pieces.

Anyway, good luck. I'm sure we would all like to know how this turns out.
