Yes, sorry, I did mean the 5JB, which does have a tip opening of 55.
The 5JB had a beautiful tone to it, and did bends very nicely. The
John Pierce Jazz mpc I ended up choosing did as nicely as the Vandoren,
but fit my embochure much better, an admittedly very subjective response.

I do have to hand it to the Vandoren 5JB for getting me through the
200th playing of the DCI-ish "Viento Espan~o" during the march Sunday.
Despite quite a few 16th note runs into the altissimo range, my
chops didn't go out nearly as quickly as they had with my stock mpc.
