Adam,

The Bartok is first rate (I've performed it several times).
Kalman Berkes transcribed it from another two-instrument transcription
by Zoltan Szekely. The publisher is Universal Edition (with some rights
to Boosey and Hawkes). My experience was that the music was available in
Europe, but hard to find in the U.S.

The Schickele Quartet, which is a mostly serious composition, is
difficult to put together, but well worth the effort. There are excellent
recordings of the piece on Vanguard CDs and tapes by David Schiffrin. The
second movement is probably the most singular because of its Charlie
Parker/Dizzy Gillespie BeBop construction.
