I played on a Pyne DL12 Mouthpiece which I purchased used about 10 years ago so
I
am not sure what the meaning of DL12 is. The Pyne was not nearly as "open" as
the
Bay MOM that I had switched from. At the time I was try
ing to mellow out my tone which I felt was a bit piercing in the upper
registers.
The Pyne did the trick, but took some time to get used to.

One other mouthpiece you may wish to try is the Blayman. I just started playing
on
a Blayman R 115 which is classified as a medium open mouthpiece. I feel the
Blayman shares many of the qualities that first attracted me
to the Bay MOM, namely intonation and control. The difference between the two,
for me, is that my tone is more controlled in the upper registers. One other
feature of the Blayman is the price, $75 compared with $150 fo
r a Pyne. Good luck, and let the list know what you decided and why.
