I do most of my practicing in my unfinished basement among the piles of
stuff my wife won't let me throw out. My biggest fan is our steam boiler.
I play downstairs, because I don't want to disturb my family, but the
acoustics in the basement are horrible. When the house is empty, I always
practice in the living room, which has the best sound in the house.

Here's my question. Is there anything I can do to improve the acoustics
in the cellar? It's all poured concrete with a wood ceiling. The sound I
get is thin. No, wait. The sound is bright. Yes, that's it; it's bright.
But, in the living room, the sound is as dark as Dan Leeson's moods.

Anyone else ever face this problem? All suggestions would be appreciated.
