Hi all!

A couple of questions...

I'm in the market for a backup mouthpiece (or a performance mouthpiece if it's
better than mine, for that matter!) and I've heard a lot on this newsgroup
about Pyne mouthpieces. I posted a letter last week on my problems with getting
a Bay from Charlie himself, and many of you mailed back that you played on a
Pyne after trying the Bay for some time. I've decided to try this Pyne and see
what I've been missing. So, are there different facings and names associated
with them for the Pyne? What is the standard? I'm playing on a fairly open
tipped mouthpiece right now (a Madsen refaced HS*). Closed tipped mouthpieces
don't seem to work for me. Any suggestions, answers, solutions... would be
greatly appreciated!

Now for the second question: I'm about to join a jazz ensemble at a local
church, and I'm not about to go play on my C*, which is the only mouthpiece I
have. A friend suggested a Meyer 5MM. I don't know anything about sax jazz
mouthpieces (especially on alto, which is what I'll be playing). I played lead
tenor several years ago at SMU on an otto link, but I've heard not to use one
on alto. Any sax guys out there? Help!

Thanks in advance!
