I studied with Dr. Bay at CSUN during the early 80's, and played on an
M-O-M for about 5 years. I found the mouthpiece to be quite good
especially in the areas of pitch and control. After a while I didn't
care for the tone I was getting with it and switched to a Pyne.

I highly recommend his ligature of which I use both on my soprano and
Bass Clarinets. The thinness of the metal used allows for the best
reed vibration of any ligature except perhaps a string. Dr. Bay
believes that the whole reed needs to vibrate not just the part over
the opening in the mouthpiece. I also still use his Bass Clarinet
Mouthpiece which I like.

My experience with him has been that he is somewhat disorganized, but
has impecible integrity. He also gave me a great education about the
Clarinet and Clarinet playing. Dealing with him directly for products
can be a problem in the manner that has already been described in this
thread. I suggest if someone wants to try his products, they go
through a dealer such as the Woodwind that will send you a few to try.
