I've been following the discussions on the list about various brands /
models of clarinets, both hated, unknown, and loved. The R-13 seems to be a
favorite.

The only clarinet that I've played for any length of time is my Selmer
Series 9*, serial number T2447, which was bought new in 1963. Is this a
great / good / mediocre / bad / terrible clarinet? How would it compare to,
say an R-13 or some other clarinet that is preferred by those of you who
know about such things?

I'm not really in the market for another clarinet right now. Alas, other
priorities are absorbing all the cash I can lay my hands on. I'd just like
to know. (Or maybe it'll just make me unhappy with a clarinet that I'm
perfectly satisfied with now... :-)
