Rien,
I regularly corcular-breathe on clarinet and sax and have tried
to do it on bass clarinet with limited success. I can do it but since the
bass has so much less resistance and needs so much more air than a
B-flat, I cannot rely on it as much. A case in point is when I try to do
the Bach unaccompanied suites. Since I need so much more air and since
circular breathing only allows a small amount of time to snatch a breath,
I still have not been satisfied with the results. However, with other
pieces I have had some luck. It really depends on the passage. If you can
make it woork, more power to you.
As for just plain learning to do it, there is a useful book
called "Circlular Breathing" by, I believe, Trent Kynaston. And I'm not
sure but I think I remember a book by Robert Dick, a flute player, about
it. I myself learned it from a friend.
