Subj: B. Festival, circular breathing, my jokes

I believe the Buffet Festival was introduced as a jazz clarinet. However, I
know several people who use them for classical purpose (granted they were
students, but that's irrelevant.) A bit confused, I tried three myself at
various locations. Two felt almost exactly like my R13. However, the third
was the most amazing clarinet I have ever played! It did not have an "open"
sound at all but a very dense and clear sound, and responded incredibly
well. This may have been a freak clarinet, but I would have bought it if I
were shopping. In my limited knowledge, I would at least recommend trying
one if you had a chance. It couldn't hurt!

About circular breathing: I picked up this technique rather easily after
attending a master class with Dr. Robert Spring. I have had little success
with this on bass clarinet, however. I doubt it is possible on bass.

Finally, I want to apologize for claiming that my Web page is the largest
source of musician jokes on the net. Several people have pointed out that
there is a much larger one at MIT and several other large ones out there.
