I received this message today from a concerned clarinetist about the
climate in Arizona during the conference. I do not think you will be here
long enough to have that much of an impact, I suggest keeping some moisture
in the case, perhaps with a dampit. I also oil my clarinets reaularly and
have not had a proble with cracks(knock on wood) since I first moved here
seven years ago. (PLEASE LETS NOT START THAT DEBATE AGAIN!!!?) I also
travel quite a bit, quite often in very different climiates from Arizona,
and have not had probLEms.
Buffet will be bringing their "Green Line" new of new clarinets. These
are made of a composite material, as I understand it, ground wood and some
type of carbon mixed together. I am planning on purchasing one. They had
them here in January of this year and I was very impressed.
