Klarinet Archive - Posting 000246.txt from 1995/06

Talked to a tech rep at Boosey & Hawkes when this instrument was first
advertised. Its full name was the "Jazz Festival". They may have changed
the name since. I haven't followed this.
Anyway, the rep from B&H said this was Buffet's attempt at going for the
jazz clarinetists who seem to buy more LeBlancs. He said the Jazz
Festival had a wider bore than the R13 and had a more "open" sound. This
difference, he said, offered jazz players more "flexibility".
Leeson's right; these guys will stop at nothing to sell horns.
Hope this adds something to this string.
