Assorted questions in response to this weekend's messages:

Where in Shostakovich 5 is this done? I've played it several times
and I don't recall considering this.

- Re Buffet serial numbers: Is there one set of serial numbers
for R13 A clarinets and one set for R13 Bb's, or are the serial
numbers intermingled?

- Re barrel rings: Is there any evidence (preferably from a controlled
experiment, but anecdotal reports would be OK too) that barrel rings
improve one's sound more than simply pulling out the barrel the same
distance would? There are obviously at least two questions here, one
of intonation and one of tone.
