I agree with Lorne Buick that you should get a clarinet with
slightly sharp tones in the throat tones and would like to add
one more highly subjective reason.
It seems to me that when you bring a throat tone down, it
produces a much more pleasant and mellow sound than
when you are trying to force it up.
