I heard some time back an interview with a British composer (Rutter, I
think it was) who had been asked at a party somewhere on the US west
coast "do you employ a professional to do your orchstration?"
The man was (not surprisingly) completely befuddled by the question.
It's like asking one of us if we use a professional to operate the
keys on our instrument.
(In my case, there would probably be an overall better result, but
then no-one would dream of paying me for my efforts ;-)
