In looking through the messages on the Klarinet list, I noticed your inquirey
regarding tuners.

I have a new book/software program which enables the
student (teacher) to use the COMPUTER AS DUET
PARTNER for learning rhythm and ensemble skills. It
also functions very well as a tuning device, since all of the duets playback
through MIDI at 440 cycles per second, and they can be played as slowly as
one wishes. You might find it interesting for you needs. If so, please take
a moment
to look over the following material.

DEVELOP YOUR MUSIC READING AND ENSEMBLE PLAYING SKILLS.

New method book called RHYTHM-IT'S EASY, presents rhythm methodically/comes
with it's own very simple MIDI sequencing program.

Computer becomes duet partner for any of 139 treble clef, contrapuntal
duets-- played at any tempo, and in
a variety of keys. (C, Bb, Eb, F) Duets progress
gradually from very simple to medium to very challenging, teaching basic
rhythm principles in the process.

Jon Chappell, (Guitar Shop Magazine), states: "I recommend this package to
all players-regardless
of level-and especially to teachers."

Dr. Bruce Benward, Music Prof. at the University of Wisconsin, writes: "Your
program is ingenious; congratulations!"

James Decker, Horn Prof at U. of So. Calif, 50 years
and over two thousand movies, TV & recording dates
in the Hollywood studios writes: "This book and software should be in every
studio where music is taught."

This 310 page method book contains duets, rhythmic
measure patterns for oral practice, and rhythmically structured scales to fit
the materials of each chapter. Current sequencing program disk is for Mac,
-- MIDI
files available for the 139 duets for IBM users. Works with Midi, or through
a sound card like Soundblaster,
in conjunction with any IBM sequencing program such
as Power Tracks Pro.

This is my second book. The first is (since 1971) a standard college text
book on instrumental conducting (The Conductor's Workshop) published by Wm C.
Brown.
