David wrote that one can certainly get a good D clarinet from
Buffet though the price is high. Truer words were never said.

But I hope that you do not mean that one can get a good D
clarinet ONLY from Buffet. Selmer makes them. LeBlanc too.
There are even German makers who will make one in a French system.

I am confident that getting such an instrument from Buffet would
result in a satisfied player. But so would getting one from any
of a number of manufacturers.

Did I misunderstand you, David?
