Thanx to everyone for the advice on the string I started about crystal
mouthpieces. A special thanx to Jack Dannenberg for sharing the
information about the Pete Fountain crystal. And, of course, another big
thank you to Dan Leeson for his informative commentary.

After reviewing all the advice, I've decided that buying a crystal
mouthpiece is not worth the risk.

Also, when I visited my local music store--a Sam Ash outlet with loads of
woodwind equipment--I looked up at the shelf of mouthpieces and saw 10
Vandoren B45s for every other mouthpiece. I love my B45, a mouthpiece no
one has ever bad-mouthed (no pun intended), and will continue to play it.
