What I meant by flea markets (our orchestra calls them that, it's
actually a yard sale) is what Lisa said re: garage sales.

What sells big? Kids clothes and toys. Nic-nacs, china, anything old (over 30
years). Old records in decent shape. Old jewelry and anything artisans
and crafters can use - one woman bought all the branches off an old fake
xmas tree I sold a couple of years ago (she left the "trunk"!). Home
decorations such as Home Interior pictures (blah). Some furniture if not
too junky.

What doesn't sell? Musical instruments (except old metal clarinets!) -
although in early fall you can get rid of them easier. Adult clothing in
non-perfect condition, including shoes. Anything made out of particle
board. Old appliances and electronics.

This is a really great way to make $. Our silent auction also gets us a
good bit. We have people donating antiques, music lessons,
performances (i.e. quintets or trios) by our members, artwork, and
instruments DO sell at these things! And donations are easy to get
because of the tax writeoff.

Good luck -

Lynn
