Subj: Bb Clarinet Modified to C

I recall reading some time ago, I no longer recall where, that a Bb clarinet
could be modified to pitch it in C by fixing a 1/4 inch diameter string inside
the clarinet for the length of the instrument. Care need be taken of course
to not block any holes with the string.

I only recall the above statements, which I am not quoting verbatim. I do not
recall any specific instructions.

This recall was the result of the discussion of the physical differences of
the Bb and A clarinets, but I don't know if it has a bearing on that thread.
I haven't tried it, but I do have an old wooden clarinet I could be tempted to
try it on if anyone has any specific thoughts on how-to.

Phil
