Hi Anne-

There's a little booklet put out by Southern Music, called _A Clarinetist's
Study Guide_, by David Hite. For obvious reasons it relies heavily on
material published by Southern and edited by Hite, but that includes lots
of standard study and solo rep. as well as some chamber music and a list of
suggestions for alto and bass rep. I wouldn't rely on it exclusively, but
it has lots of good ideas. They have an 800 number (1-800-284-5443) and I'm
sure they'd just love to send you a copy (and probably a bunch of other
stuff as well).

Personally, as a beginner/ high school method, I prefer _Clarinet for Beginners_
by Avrahm Galper (2 vols pub by Boosey & Hawkes). Lots of good tunes,
finger exercices well selected and arranged in logical order, introduces
things in logical order. (One thing though- he introduces tonguing quite
late, so if your students are in band they will have had to learn about
this much earlier.) He also put out a book called _Scales and Arpeggios_,
which is based on the Baermann but without the extended range, and arranged
with all the exercices for each key on one page, which I have found more
useful for most students. These are readily available in Canada- if you
have trouble finding them in the US email me and I'll give you a couple of
sources.
