David,

I switched from double lip to single lip in college also. Not that
I wanted to. . . I was rather strong headed. But I made it none the
less. That's why I know about bone conduction. I couldn't stand the
sound I heard. But, would you believe, I still to this day play double
lip on Saxophone! Even after 20 years of marching on Worden Field at
the Naval Academy, playing tenor and coming back to the bandroom with
raw meat for an upper lip, I still can't stand to play sax with my
teeth on the mouthpiece. Oh well, live and _never_ learn...
