Ltnn,
I was told by a very old man who used to work for Carl Fischer in
New York (yes, the music publishing company. They used to be an
all-purpose music company) that at one time Carl Fischer was the US agent
for Buffet clarinets. In fact, this guy used to be the head technician
there. Incidentally, his name is Bob Zang. So that's you're mystery. As
for the clarinet itself, it is indeed a collector's item and if it is
restored well I am aware that it is a relatively sought-after instrument.
I wouldn't be surprised if you get some inquiries on this listing from
interested buyers.
