Well, I guess I am going to get into the middle of this one, against my
better judgement. V12s are SOFTER at the same strength number. If you play
a 31/2 regular Vandoren you would need to go to a 4 V12. The V12 is a
thicker blank, but is thinner at the tip, and a slightly heavier strength is
needed to overcome that thinness. I have had very good luck with V12s, by
the way. Lee
