I currently play on Vandoren V-12 reeds. I've found that these V-12 reeds last
a lot longer if they are "polished" after each time they are played on. What I
mean by "polished" is that it is good to take a piece of slick paper or just
your finger and polished the face of the reed -- many times I polish the back
of the reed too. I've found that the reed lasts about twice as long as one
not "polished."
