Overtone practice -
Somebody mentioned that Rascher's Top Tones advocated practicing overtones
to enable altissimo playing. I found that this was the only way to learnn
altissimo. I also found that practicing overtones help all of my woodwinds.
It is particularly helpful to practice matching a note fingered normally
to the same note fingered as an overtone. Also, by learning overtones,
one also learns a lot about controllong high notes and making them
sound better

To the person who said that a tuba is to a sousaphone as a clarinett
is to a saxophone, I say phht!
