Here is an old posting of mine, which I just found out was never
sent, that I hope will answer your question about apostrophes after note
letter names. As for the ranges of the instrument, here they are:

Chalumeau e - e'b (or some say to f'#)
Throat e' - b'b (or some say g'
- b'b)
Clarion b' - c'''
Altissimo c'''# and above (usually
to c'''')
