What is the objection to the articulated C#/g#? It seems more
useful to me than the alternate G#/d# on the Buffet prestige
an some Leblanc models.

I've heard the one about being hard to keep adjusted; the one
I have hasn't required adjusting any more than any other key on
the horn (the 7-th ring does require a lot of adjusting but even
that set screw has been untouched months).

I've also heard the one about the horn being too heavy(!) I doubt
that the articulated mechanism weighs two ounces. Anyway, note the
recent discussions of neck straps for the clarinet.

I note that ALL saxophones have articulated C#/g#. I guess they
are heavier so require less adjustment and the weight is not a
problem since the performer uses a neck strap.

Of course, this additional key work would raise the price of the
instrument. (If I remember, one vendor wants about 350 to make a
23/7 instead of the usual 17/6).
