You know, the horn player in our quintet does this on a regular basis,
and I'm about ready to gouge her eyes out with an icepick. Does that
improve her performance? Perhaps. Does it increase _our_ performance?
Definitely not. It will often change the voicing of a chord or the
timbre of a line. Such "transposition" is certainly not acceptable in my
mind.
