I tried it at the urging of my teacher (who seems to like the basic design),
and I found it far too closed. I couldn't play it with my current reeds
(Vandoren Traditional or V-12, #3-1/2) without choking off the sound or fear
of squeaks.

They have a V-13 available now with the same core design but a wider tip
opening. Unfortunately, it's only available in Profile-88, which is a
sharper beak angle. My teacher says the new profile is less favorable than
the old because it causes the mouth to close more, thereby taking away
resonance. Does anyone else have any opinions on Profile-88?
