My source is an album note on the CD "Four Orchestral Works by Aaron
Copland" Musical Heritage Society (MHS 512336). I must admit that I
assumed the reference was to concerti. The source reads "Benny Goodman
had commissioned works from Bartok, Hindemith and Stravinsky before
approaching Copland,..." Vivian Perlis, album notes. My point is
still: are there any quality recordings of these works and could
someone give us a brief review/critique? On the otherhand, I didn't
know about the Milhaud concerto, thanks.

Incidently, William Blount is the clarinetist on this recording and he
does a superb job. John
