I heard that record years ago...I remember that the pianist/composer of the
piece was a Bulgarian himself. Ellis went on to a bunch of great stuff in
odd meters (always counted as multiples of 2 and 3) and I think I recall Don
Menza as the fireworks on one record, playing a circular-breathed cadenza
that was intricate and impassioned.
