It's funny, even though I listen to mostly classical music and play the
clarinet, I do not have a lot of classical clarinet music in my collection.
My very favorite clarinet recording is Memories of You from Eddie Daniels'
Benny Rides Again. It's a nice mellow tune that really shows off Eddie's
beautiful tone. Of course, it builds up to a lot of typical fantastic Eddie
runs with a very nice vibes sole by Gary Burton. But the part that really
gets to me is the very end where Eddie performs a most incredible run at
pianissimo. What control! Every note is clear. I cannot listen to this song
without backtracking the last few seconds a few more times.

I am planning a trip to the record store soon with printouts of some of this
group's suggestions on classical clarinet solo and ensemble pieces. I would
also like to find some of Giora Feidman's Klezmer music.
