This is a repost of a previous query which might have some relevance to
Ms. McKenney:

Does anyone know anything about a King/Marigeaux bass clarinet?

My local repairman is trying to interest me in a used one for $1500.
He said its in good shape, no cracks, includes stand, goes to Eb, made
of grenadila, etc. I don't know if I can play a bass, come up with
$1500 etc., but thought I'd like to try it anyway!

As an addendum, I'm not really in the market for a bass clarinet, just
want an excuse to play one. So, something of this sort might be of
use to someone who is really looking for a used one. I have much respect
for the person selling, and thought this might be a good deal for someone.
