Jay Eric Niepoetter requested very easy (jr high) band arrangements for
any "standard" clarinet solos:

Several French conservatory pieces have had band accompaniments
transcribed from the original piano scores. John Moher, former Professor
of Clarinet at the University of Michigan did many of these over the
years and performed them regularly with university and possibly high
school bands/wind ensembles. The difficulty for a "satifying"
performance with the "average" junior high school band is questionable.
However, I've heard a few great junior high bands that could do
accompaniments that were satisfactory.

I believe that when Dr. Mohler retired, the score and parts of these
works were given to Robert Spring (Arizona State Univ) for a recording
project (not sure of the status of this). Some may also be in the
library of Greg Young, clarinet professor at Montana State University in
Bozeman. [an aside here for Dan Leeson - the clarinet is alive and well
here in Idaho and Montana - touche).

I recently did the third, Rondo movement of Mozart's "Concerto", K622,
with a band accompaniment. A "good" junior high band could get through
this but I doubt a satisfying performance is possible. It wasn't for me!

There are several recent solo clarinet works written with band
accompaniment. One is entitled "Canticle". I can't find the program that
listed the composer. I'll ask the student who performed it a couple of
years ago for the info and get back to you.
