I know that a band accompaniment to the Weber Concertino, Op. 26, exists,
since I soloed (or rather, "duetted" with another clarinet and played the
solo in unison) with my junior-high band several years ago. As for its
difficulty level--well, I think the transcription was fairly faithful
(i.e., not watered-down), but my band managed to put it together (albeit
not perfectly, but very well) in about two weeks. So that may be a
consideration.

There's also an arrangement of the Adagio of the Mozart Concerto,
transcribed by Robert Bardeen, published by Kendor, that isn't very
difficult. I was in the band, accompnying, when we played this. I
remember the presence of a lot of throat-tone stuff, and tuning was
pretty difficult...but technically, it was very manageable
(aesthetically, well, that's a different matter....) I don't know
whether or not the entire concerto exists in band transcription form, though.

I also remember seeing an arrangement of the Rossini _Intro, Theme, and
Variations_ in the Oxford Music Publishers catalog--I don't imagine that
the band accompaniment is too difficult, so that may be an option as well.

Regards,
Michiya
