I humid Virginia, these cases grow green slimy things if one isn't
careful. Mercifully, they pull apart for cleaning as necessary. They also
leave a compression groove across the reed near the base of the cut. I'm
not sure if that's bad, but I keep Pops concert reeds only (past their
prime, but not disgusting sounding) in mine.
