My present instructor has told me to avoid swabbing the mouthpiece because it
will alter the shape.

It reminds me a bit of the butterfly that turns a boulder into sand with its
wings. - This has to be clarinet foklore at its best. Handed down from
instuctor to student as a perpetual joke. I'm surprised that those who chall
ange the concept of a 'Dark' sound are not adamently challenging the swab
altered mouthpiece concept.
