Dan....You keep your bass clarinet assembled in the pit for a week? I'm
envious, for several reasons. For one, I do worry about cork compression;
for two, I worry about sound technicians, lighting guys, guys with vacuum
cleaners (no, not saxophones) and dancers,practising their grande-jetes on
the stage above, doing a swan dive into the pit below; and for three, I
worry, in Los Angeles, about the everpresent danger of, for lack of more
colorful terminology, ripoff. What about the mouthpiece? Do you take that
