This last posting on keeping a clarinet assembled for long periods is
reminsicent of many discussions on KLARINET. I've read all of the
archives; it took me a couple of months.

Having absorbed all of this data on clarinets in a short period of time, I
think it's time that someone came out with a true one-piece
clarinet made of a maintenance-free synthetic. By this I mean an
instrument composed of mouthpiece, reed, ligature, barrel, two joints and
a bell all in one piece. Of course, this would be a disposable.

This kind of clarinet would fill the need to fiddle around whenever you
wanted to without wetting, greasing, clamping, screwing, aligning,
drying, ungreasing, unclamping, unscrewing and storing. If Vito came out
with one of these for about $100 bucks, I'd buy one.
