I'm no expert by any means, but if you leave your clarinet assembled
for to long, yes, you are asking for trouble.
1) It's bad for the cork. The cork needs to "breath" otherwise it
will compress and eventually give air leaks.
2) Moisture accumulates in the tenons around the cork. If you don't
disassemble you you can't dry this out and it could lead to cracks at
the joints.

You might actually be able to have your clarinet "permanently"
assembled by a good repair tech. and then get a one piece case. I'm
just guessing at this but I imagine it could be done with out harming
the instrument. Has anyone done this?
