Richard et al, I hope I speak for most of us "pros" out here when I say we
would be delighted to have a mature student with your enthusiasm and
knowledge of the clarinet, and you needn't worry at all about what you've
forgotten. I dare say it will come back that much quicker with the help of
a competent teacher. And, much as I love teaching kids and teenagers, I'm
often frustrated at the fact that it never even occurs to them to listen to
recordings and get ideas of what the clarinet can/ should sound like,
beyond the first chair of their school band. To teach someone who has at
least heard of some other clarinetists would be great for a change...
