For what it's worth, all of my clarinetsare padded in cork (7 of them)
I've been playing them for thirty years and have replaced the pads
on them once, except for my E-fer, which has only had cork pads for
the last ten years. The reason I like them is that when they get dirty
I can disassemble the clarinet and wash them. It's like having an all
new horn.
