I've always suspected that the moisture to be found inside a clarinet was
largely due to condensation from warm breath hitting a cooler surface.
Saliva would be in there, too.

Has anyone ever thought of determining the proportion of condensation to
saliva? It shouldn't be a difficult problem if you have access to the
right instruments (double meaning?).

Any of you chemistry people interested in adding to the pool of knowledge?
